Adjacent to Riverside Bicentennial Park, the 9 acre Bishop’s Island was redeveloped in 2016 with the construction of a brand new, lighted baseball/softball athletic field. This picturesque field serves as the principal playing area for the department’s youth baseball and adult softball leagues. The facility has a storage building for field maintenance and equipment, spectator seating and thanks to the Eagle Scout project of Nathan Willett, the field is also equipped with beautiful player dugouts.
Parking for the facility is on the opposite side of Kennedy Brook, connected by a short walking path and pedestrian bridge. The community Bike Path skirts the edge of the park, providing a scenic walk along both Kennedy Brook and the Presque Isle Stream.
